Flooring FAQs
How much extra flooring should I buy?
Always buy at least 10% extra to account for cuts, waste, and future repairs. For diagonal patterns or complex room shapes, allow 15%.
Do I need to include the whole room or just the floor area?
Enter the full floor area of the room. The calculator accounts for wastage automatically — you don’t need to add extra yourself.
Can I use this for carpet or vinyl roll?
Yes — select Roll / Carpet as the flooring type. The calculator will give you the total m² needed including wastage, which you can use to order the right amount of roll material.
